Strategic and Business Planning

Defining and Refining the Agenda

These activities require close coordination with meeting and conference sponsors to achieve a full understanding of the intent and purpose of the activity. Monterey works in harmony with its clients, and fully understands the requirements of any such activity in which we are involved. Monterey conducts preplanning activities to develop initial agenda and schedules, and then coordinates with all concerned agencies to brainstorm and refine the agenda to meet both overall objectives and specific topical requirements. Monterey assists client managers in conducting MOBIS related tasks by developing agendas designed to maximize the productivity and effectiveness of our customer’s activities.

Meetings and Conferences

Experienced professionals who are closely attuned to the customer’s requirements and objectives conduct Monterey’s facilitation services. This knowledge and experience allows us to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of any planning, decision making, or instructional meetings regardless of the audience size or the nature of the customer’s requirement. These services typically encompass scheduling, acquiring, and providing appropriate meeting facilities, providing and operating video teleconferencing facilities, and any other activities required to ensure a successful conference or meeting. Monterey thoroughly understands the necessity of creating the proper meeting environment to ensure productive and empowered participation by all attendees. Providing a Draft for Permanent Record

Monterey also captures and tracks all action items, including point of contact, estimated completion date, status reporting, etc. Monterey provides draft copies of minutes for management review and for inclusion of pertinent slides and presentations to be made a part of the permanent record. Needs Assessment

Monterey’s highly experienced staff approaches organizational needs assessments and surveys from a total systems perspective. Monterey reviews program documentation and conducts customer interviews to determine specific program needs and management expectations. By focusing on both management’s current requirements and the documented program directives, Monterey is able to provide quality needs assessments that identify not only the existing shortfalls, but will position the organization to fulfill its long-term objectives as well.

Planning Survey Design

Monterey conducts those activities required to develop the scope, objectives, and expected results for the planned survey. Monterey’s skilled staff will determine the type survey that is best suited to collect the required information and achieve the expected results. Monterey employs statistical modeling methodologies to determine the optimum sample size. We then select the type survey that best meets the statistical requirements. These may include targeted customer questionnaires, broad-based internet questionnaires, individual interviews, focus groups, telephonic sampling, or other manual and automated information capture methods.

Survey Development

Monterey performs all required functions necessary to develop survey instruments such as questionnaires, interview guide sheets, instruction packages for survey participants, electronic tabulation tools, and templates. Additionally, Monterey conducts standardization training for the surveyors to eliminate possible skewed results due to differences in individual survey techniques. Monterey’s goal is to develop each individual survey to be as empirically objective as possible. Monterey’s quality assurance procedures ensure repeatable, objective survey instruments that are responsive to our customer’s needs, and that meet all known statistical examinations.

Database Administration

Monterey is skilled in all activities necessary to store, sort, access, and analyze collected survey data. Monterey designs databases that are usable to not only our own skilled staff, but to our customer’s staffs as well. Monterey’s database design and administration services are centered on providing usable tools to the customer, and to make the customer self-sufficient at the end of Monterey’s period of performance. Monterey recognizes that survey data may be a valuable resource for purposes other than those for which the original survey was designed. Monterey’s user-friendly database designs allow the customer to extract, sort, and analyze data to meet future as well as current requirements.

Analyses of Quantitative and Qualitative Data

Monterey performs all tasks relevant to the collation, statistical analysis, graphical representation, and qualitative analysis of survey findings and results. Monterey’s statistical analysts employ best practice empirical analysis techniques to assess quantitative survey results. For qualitative surveys, our experienced management analysts employ operations research and statistical analyses, coupled with their strong management backgrounds to provide objective analyses of subjective data.

Production of Reports

Monterey produces survey reports that are written in clear, concise language understandable to the statistical layman. The Monterey staff understands that our customers are not statisticians, or data analysts, but managers who are relying on us to provide the most usable products to enable them to increase the effectiveness of their organizations. We use state of the art graphics and reproduction methods to ensure that our reports are clearly presented. When requested, we also provide CD ROM development, editing, and reproduction of both our products as well as those of the customer.

Program Management
